Hot Place
Cu Chi Tunnels, which have become the main tourist attraction in Ho Chi Minh City. The history of the fierce war in the past has now become a space for tourists to experience... I think it is a place where you can feel the flow of history. This is a historical site that must be visited by those traveling to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It is a place where you can directly manage and experience the secret tunnels used by Viet Cong guerrillas.
Gucci Tunnel History and Background
Located about 70 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City is the Cu Chi Tunnel. It is said to have been first built during the French colonial period in the 1940s. It is known as an underground passageway because Viet Cong soldiers used it in battles against the United States during the Vietnam War. It is said to be 250 kilometers long because it was dug so well underground. It is a huge tunnel with a dense structure of three underground floors.
At the time, it was used as a military base and conference room, and it is said that it was used as a food storage and living space. Thanks to this, many Viet Cong were able to survive and resist even when the US military bombed them.
Currently, it is used as a tourist attraction, and there is a course where you can experience this tunnel firsthand. The entrance and exit are quite narrow, and the inner tunnel is so narrow that you have to crawl on your knees to move... so it is not recommended for those with claustrophobia. You can also see the warships used during the war and experience the food eaten during the war.
Cu Chi Tunnel Basic Visit Information & Admission Fee
Location: Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Opening hours: 08:00 ~ 17:00 daily
General admission ticket: approximately 110,000 VND (about 6,000 KRW)
Because it is far from downtown Ho Chi Minh, it is common to take a taxi or use a tour from a travel agency. In addition to the general admission price, if you have a guided tour, shooting experience, or other activities, the fee will continue to increase. For regular group tours, you should expect to pay around 20,000 won per person, and if you use a private or VIP tour, the cost will go up to 70,000 won to 200,000 won.
How to visit Cu Chi Tunnels & recommended tours
The part where you come out into a narrow space like this is the symbol(?) of the Cu Chi Tunnel where most people take their best shots. As mentioned above, when visiting this place, I do not recommend visiting it individually because it takes a long time. It would be best to use a guided tour.
-What if I visit individually?
It is recommended to book a taxi with Grab in downtown Ho Chi Minh City and then visit. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes! If you take the bus, you can save some money, but you have to transfer, so it takes a long time and can be a bit confusing, so it is not recommended.
-Guided tour
It is common to take a guided half-day tour departing from Ho Chi Minh City. Most tours are conducted in English. It is recommended to take a tour that includes round-trip transportation and entrance tickets. The public cost is approximately in the mid-20,000 won range per person if you choose the regular tour option in the tour below.

For the above options, if you choose the most normal regular group option, you can choose the time from 8 AM to 12 PM, etc. If you choose the VIP option, lunch is also provided, but the cost is a bit higher.
Also, for the Ho Chi Minh Cu Chi Tunnels Tour with other options, if a shooting experience is included, the tour price may go up a bit. Also, if other areas, such as the Mekong River tour, are included in addition to the tunnels, the price will be adjusted again.

Even if you visit the same place, the price range is different depending on the VIP, regular, and private tours. Also, the price range is different depending on whether you have a round-trip vehicle, shooting experience, etc., or whether other local spots are included! Let's check it out together.
Things to be aware of when visiting the tunnel
This place is so narrow that you almost have to crawl inside, so I recommend wearing comfortable clothes and sneakers. It would also be good to bring knee pads. The tunnel is narrow and stuffy, so if you suffer from claustrophobia, I don't recommend it, as explained above. However, if you really want to visit, there is a short course where you can experience about 20 meters, so I think you can choose this course.
Be careful when experiencing shooting! Since it is a real gun, be sure to consider the sound and recoil of the gun.
If you are a bit bigger, it might be a bit more difficult. If you really think it will be difficult, I think it would be enough to not go inside the tunnel and just look at the nearby exhibits, traps, and snares.
Cu Chi Tunnels, a popular tourist spot in Ho Chi Minh! If you visit here and then visit the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City, you can learn about the history of the Vietnam War! If you are someone who wants to get a lot of information about the history of the area while traveling? Consider this when planning your itinerary.
